When in Japan, you know I had to pay Bape a visit. We hit up four Bape stores, searching for the most suitable souvenirs. I picked up this cropped hoodie, and it was love at first sight. The overtly logo-laden sweater pays homage to the beloved 90s trend, when it was unmistakable where you got your clothes from. I'm still in love with streetwear, and the femininity and masculinity of a cropped hoodie.
In case you're not familiar with Bape, A Bathing Ape is a Japanese clothing brand with an iconic presence in the streetwear game. 'Especially in my pastel, on my Bape shit' as Kanye West mentions in 'Stronger.' It's not a coincidence that every Bape store had his latest album, 'The Life of Pablo' on repeat. Good luck trying to find a classic Bape shirt on their website. This brand keeps their stuff super exclusive by saving inventory for the storefronts.
Rightfully, I had to shoot this hoodie in the famous Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo.
