How to De-stress

It's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of work and personal obligations. Stress and rumination can eat us up and we lose ourselves for a bit. For my well being, it’s absolutely necessary to hit pause. Let yourself indulge in things that make you happy, let yourself be inspired. Our professional and social obligations can sometimes chip away at our core identity. It's important to feel and act on your individuality. Doing things for the very reason of "just because" and doing it unapologetically. Take it in and let it out. For me, cooking is "taking it in.” It’s therapeutic in the sense that I feel accomplished to whip up an awesome meal, and the love and attention that goes into each meal requires me to be present when I’m cooking. This is one way I absorb positive energy and I let it out unwanted energy through a high-intensity workout. Indulge in your reveries. Take time to be yourself. Then get back to work and hit the ground running.
