Holy Cow

Sometimes you find a standout piece and you can't tell if it's different/cute or just plain ugly? I like to call it "ugly-cute!" I found this fur collar from ASOS.com and I had to have it. You see faux fur collars, but do you see any with cow hide? It had to be mine.

Everyone plays favorites with certain pieces in their closets (guilty) but I've made it a point to love all pieces equally. My lace up heels were collecting dust and I thought they would add a pop of texture to this outfit. I've said it once and I'll say it again: When wearing monochrome, it's textures that make pieces stand out.

My friend/photographer Marco and I got caught in the rain when we took these photos. If you look closely, my hair gets progressively wetter and then I become a frizz ball lol.

Thanks so much for dropping in!

Sporty Chic

Top: Nike, Shoes: Steve Madden, Necklace: Xevana  |  Captured by Lux

I didn't ask for a bajillion awesome Mickey heads. I didn't ask for them to match my shirt, either. Sometimes life is just good to me! It's bright and sunny in San Francisco and a perfect day to rock this classic Nike tank and cruise around the bay. The only thing better than this retro tank is when it's paired with my Xevana necklace. Isn't she gorgeous? To complement the necklace, I threw on my super sick holographic heels. I love wearing simple sandal heels with denim shorts for that effortless I-woke-up-like-this vibe.

I have a couple photo shoots today plus some last minute shopping before heading out to Miami for my birthday! Should be fun. Hopefully, I can link up with new photographers and meet some cool peoples. Miami, I'm coming for ya! I hope you all are having a fantastic week, and thanks so much for reading!

Schoolgirl Feelings

Top: Tildon (also worn here), Skirt: H&M (also worn here), Necklace: Xevana, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell  |  Photos by Carl Mahoney

My skater skirt strikes again! I love the scuba-suit neoprene and the way it flounces as I move. It's probably my favorite H&M purchase to date! Naturally, I paired it with this sheer button-up and stockings for the classic schoolgirl look. If you have been following my blog, you would know that I literally live in my Xevana necklace--it goes with everything! Or perhaps I just wear it with everything? Embrace who you are and do as you please: That's the beauty of personal style!

I'm not sure why I'm drawn to juxtaposing a pretty outfit against a run-down place. Yet here I am once again exploring dark and desolate areas. I thought it would be interesting to switch it up and do a nighttime shoot. The darkness adds a cinematic touch, wouldn't you agree?

It's that time to reload on my caffeine. I hope you all are having a fantastic week! Thanks so much for stopping by!

How To Rock a Bohemian Look

Coat: Wilson's Leather, Pants: Forever 21, Turban Hat: Asos, Necklace: Xevana, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell  |  Photos by Carl Mahoney

What I love about bohemian looks is how they embody the perfect blend of casual, cool and comfortable. Long maxi lengths provide a relaxed fit and is a key element of the laid-back boho style. Meanwhile, mix-and-matching earthy prints gives off an effortless vibe and keeps things funky and interesting. If this isn't your style, but you want to dabble with a bohemian look, start with balancing hippie pants or a maxi skirt with a crop top. Naysayers beware, you might get addicted to this comfy fit.

One way to mix-and-match is to stick to similar or complementary colors. Here, I'm mixing prints and textures and it works because I'm sticking to earthy tones.

How awesome is this funky suede coat? Carl's lady friend, Megan, was kind enough to let me borrow it. Statement pieces like this one are cool enough to instantly enhance a simple outfit. I'm in love with my turban beanie from Asos. I'm all about textures so I was drawn it's thick knit and it's large knot in front. Layering necklaces is also part of the boho look. This gorgeous necklace that I'm wearing by Xevana is composed of 5 smaller necklaces that can be worn all together or individually. They call it a "stacklace" and it's a pretty amazing concept in my book. These stacklaces are a little pricey, but their wearability and versatility pretty much offsets the price tag.

I just came back from yet another vacation in Los Angeles and I have to say a getaway is a great way to gain a better outlook on life. It's a great day to be alive and I hope you guys feel the same. Thanks for reading, friends, and I wish you guys a Happy Monday!
