Victoria La Mode x Groceries

Weekends are great, but I look forward to Mondays because that means a new blog post on victorialamode! Today's post is a special one because I'm collaborating with a company I believe is the future in clothing manufacturing. I'm channeling Old Hollywood vibes in this flattering little black dress from a brand so fresh, they call themselves Groceries. The fabric is made from 100% recycled and organic ingredients, sourced locally just outside of Fresno, California. The materials are then transported on their merry way to Groceries's own factory located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.

So, what's the difference between conventional cotton and organic? Organic cotton farming is based on the respect for our environment and the people and creatures that live in it. Organic cotton comes from non-GMO (genetically modified organism) seeds, which is grown without the use of pesticides and fungicides.

Conventional cotton uses 16% of the world's insecticides - more than any other single crop - making cotton the world's 'dirtiest' crop. Essentially, the chemicals in the pesticides degrade the organic matter in the soil. Without organic matter, it is difficult for water to be absorbed in the soil. This contaminated water then makes its way to our lakes, rivers and fresh water sources, killing fish and other species in its path. Growing organic cotten requires more time and effort, but it certainly betters the environment in more ways than one.

Our world is a beautiful place, and it's refreshing to discover a stylish company that cares.

Street Chic

Happy Monday, friends! Today's look features a Barbara Bui-inspired top. I first saw it worn by Ellie Goulding and fell in love with the cropped curved hem and strappy sides. I balanced the top with my favorite trousers and went with my Adidas Superstar's for a casual touch. One of my favorite looks right now is wearing all-black with white sneakers. I like the smart contrast, clean and crisp.

I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. Thank you much for reading!

50 Shades of Bae

If coverage and sexiness could coexist, it would be in the form of a slit maxi skirt. The alluring slit packs a statement on it's own, so the process of picking out a top has minimal effort required. Seriously, pick a simple top and it'll work perfectly! Pair it with a crop top or a half-tucked tank or tee to define the waist.

I hope everyone's having a productive week so far! As always, thanks for dropping in!

Wild West

Howdy, partner. I wore this outfit to brunch with my grandparents and my grandma was quite pleased with my western, mountain woman look. She asked me to dress like this everyday lol, so this one is for you, grams.

The dress is a lovely lace which stands beautifully on it's own, but I added the hat for some edge. I still felt pretty girly so I added the bandana and boots. I tried something different and layered necklaces over my bandana and I think it's quite cutesy. Would you wear this look? Let me know in the comments section below!
