1960's Go-go Girl

Beauty is timeless. The 1960's was an innovative era for women's fashions. Things got bolder, quirkier. Shorts got shorter in addition to psychedelic prints and colorblock. The iconic mod 60's look originated in London is so feminine and flirty. All I'm missing is some chunky white framed sunglasses. Thanks to the good people at Forever 21 for hooking up your girl. How cool is it that this entire look is from Forever? Well, boots from Public Desire, but you can get them for Forever too!

I've been loving newsboy hats recently--the bigger the better. It's one accessory that instantly elevates an outfit from simple to chic. Mini wrap skorts (skirt shorts) were a big thing in the 60's and allowed girls to look playful yet modest. At last, girls could bend over and adjust their go-go boots with confidence.

I remember growing up with super strict Asian parents, and was not allowed to wear skirts BUT I COULD WEAR A SKORT. So I had many, many skorts. It felt like a happy medium, a transaction worked out with me and my parents at the tender age of seven lol. Because it was always about fashion. And now I miss my parents. Love you mom and dad!

UPDATE: OMG OMG YOUR GIRL WAS FEATURED ON Forever 21.COM!!! Extremely humbled and utterly grateful to be sponsored and featured by such an influential brand as Forever! There are so many girls out there doing what I'm doing, and it feels SO special to stand out from the rest. Thank you Alejandro Rios for lending me your gifted talents and kind soul. I am living my dream. THANK YOU to everyone reading this for following along on my journey, because good things are meant to be shared. This is just the beginning!

Parisian Vibes

I've said it once and I've said it again, hunter green is my favorite color to wear in the fall. Such a rich and regal color, flattering on all skin tones. Magical, right? It's different, it's uncommon. It's also my mom's favorite color--so that might explain my affinity. This dress has a lovely ribbed texture, exposed zipper and oversized O-ring zipper, screaming '90s babes of your dreams'. The dress on it's own is a little too racy, so I paired it with a cute velvet beret--both items from Forever 21. I love the way hats have an ability to top off or subdue any outfit, simply diverting the attention from your outfit to your pretty face. This dress is a size small, but I think a medium might have worked better for me since I am a little busty and the dress ran a little short. No big deal, still love how this look mixes edgy and adorable elements.

Coach Swagger

As if off-the-shoulder tops aren't slowing invading my closet, I stumbled across this special button-up shirt. I've been heavily influenced by the style of my favorite bloggers that I started to lose sight of my own. Wear what feels right. Wearing oversized button up shirts as off-the-shoulder tops are heavily trending on IG right now. And this shirt fits the bill. I love the "collar" that wraps around the neckline and the curved hem on the sides of the top. Do a half tuck to show some curves (and to prove to everyone that you are wearing shorts underneath, oops!)

How cute is this purse? Cute enough for me to seriously downsize my everyday essentials i.e., cash, cards and lip stick. Something has gotten into me and I'm drawn towards more feminine styles and less influenced by streetwear AKA Rihanna. Loving little purses from circa 1950's that are compact with little handles, as opposed to a strap. It fits everything I need when I'm not in the mood to lug around my backpack, even though I still love the backpack trend.

Pairing this look with clear heels was a no-brainer. I love how they spruce up the look and elongate the gams. Hope everyone had a productive Monday, and thanks for dropping in!
