Stand Out

Some people settle for the typical thing / Living all their lives, waiting in the wings / It ain't a question of "if," just a matter of time / Before I move to the front of line / And once you're watching every move that I make /  You gotta believe I got what it takes / To stand out

Be yourself, know your worth and strive for more! I just came back from VidCon in Southern California, and this song was the theme of the trip. (Cool points if you can name the movie it's from). For those who don't know, VidCon is a YouTube convention held annually in Anaheim, California.

VidCon's opening ceremony was equal parts epic and inspirational. John and Hank Green of the VlogBrothers took the stage snapchatting and vlogging their opening speech. John Green was the man of the hour. His novel "Paper Towns" was made into a motion picture film and premiered on the same day as VidCon. Rhett & Link played a heartfelt song, written about the frantic race of being the first to comment "First." Tyler Oakley debuted the cover of his new book in an elaborate, cinematic intro that was so charismatic, you're sure to fall in love.  I left the convention full of joy and inspiration, and I plan to make more videos for you guys real soon!

Now let's get back to this outfit. I got this top from Rehab Clothing, a small company based in LA. Never have I seen an overall top. Naturally, I had to make it mine. I love pieces that are different and stand out in some way.

I have to give major props to my photographer Dante Johnson for making modeling an easy task.

Thanks so much for reading!

Ah, the 90s. An era of soulful R&B and the best chick flicks to date. I was doing some last minute Coachella-shopping when I stumbled upon this hidden gem: Black. Crochet. Overalls! Tie a flannel around your waist with some combat boots and you're rocking this 90s trend. I styled it with my stacklace from Xevana which I've been literally wearing with everything. I think a dark lip vamps up this outfit (it's "Cyber" by MAC). Maybe I'm biased because it took me months to get my hands on this color. Maybe I'm crazy for searching for so long, who knows. #girlproblems. Hope you guys like it! Happy Monday, friends!
